Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 Cleans and sanitizes restrooms.

 Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, stripping, scrubbing, shampooing, waxing, buffing, spot cleaning, and vacuuming.

 Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials by hand or with the use of powered equipment, replacing liners and cleaning

receptacles as needed.

 Observes appearances and conditions of premises and equipment; reports needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring

outside vendor services.

 Dust and clean office desks and furniture that are not cluttered.

 Dusts blinds, file cabinets, windowsills, and equipment.

 Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms.

 Restock supplies in restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.

 Maintain janitor closet in a clean, organized and safe manner.

 Maintain janitorial equipment in clean, safe and operable condition.

 Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

 Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.

 Assist in setting up, arranging, and removing decorations, tables and chairs to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and

meetings.

 Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.

 Operates power equipment such as forklifts, pressure washer, hand and power tools.

 Observe all company policies and procedures.

 Must be able to work additional hours to support the organization’s needs.

 Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or the Manufacturing Manager.

Requirements:

 High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or apprenticeship and at least one (1) year of related experience.  Minimal computer skills in the Windows environment required.  Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the janitorial service.  Ability to operate and use janitorial tools, and supplies such as floor buffers, vacuum cleaners, and cleaning compounds and solutions.  Forklift certification required; or to be obtained within the initial 90 days of employment.  Ability to read and interpret English documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
